Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgical Associates has four employees, Dr. Jose R. Ruiz, Ms. Irene Ruiz, Office Administrator, Ms. Jessica Parson, Receptionist/Podiatric Assistant and Michelle Milete, Medical Biller. These individuals have been a great asset to the success of the company. Ms. Ruiz and Ms. Milete provide translation to our Spanish population which makes patients feel more comfortable at the time of their visit. Our qualified staff is friendly, accommodating staff and will ensure a pleasant visit to all our patients.
Jose R. Ruiz, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Jose R. Ruiz was born in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Upon graduation from the University of Puerto Rico, Dr. Ruiz received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army where he served as a Communication Officer in the 10th Mountain Division and then moved to Philadelphia to attend Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Ruiz graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1994 and completed his Surgical Residency at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Springfield, PA. In 1997 Dr. Ruiz founded Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgical Associates, P.C. He is a Diplomate American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Fellow American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and Fellow American Professional Wound Care Association, also a retired Major US Army, Medical Service Corps (28 years of service).
Dr. Ruiz has been practicing for over 20 years in the City of Millville and he is on the medical staff at Inspira Health Network, were he is part of the Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency Program as an Attending Surgical Staff and Oak and Main Surgical Center.
He is also on Surgical Staff with the Elmer Medical Center and the Elmer Wound Care Center, Elmer, NJ., more recently he is a Consultant for the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correction Institution, Fairton, NJ.
Dr. Ruiz is fluent in Spanish and English.
Michael Calderone, DPM
Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgical Associates is pleased to announce and welcome Dr. Michael Calderone, DPM to our practice located at 1600 N. High St., in Millville, NJ.
Dr. Calderone is a fellowship-trained podiatric surgeon with extensive training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, advanced wound care techniques and treating acute and chronic conditions.
He obtained his undergraduate degree in biology and pre-medicine from Kean University and then attended Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio. He completed his residency at Inspira Health Network in Vineland, New Jersey, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Calderone has trained extensively in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and has been involved in several research publications. He has also completed training at The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, Maryland.
Upon completing his residency, he went on to complete his fellowship at The Atlanta Reconstructive Surgery and Limb Preservation Fellowship in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Calderone is currently in the Surgical Staff of Vineland, Elmer, Mullica Hill Medical Center and Elmer Would Care Center, NJ.
Dr. Calderone is fluent in Spanish and English.
In his free time, he enjoys being in the outdoors, cooking, playing golf and basketball, and spending time with his family.
Irene E. Ruiz
Ms. Irene Ruiz joined our office after her 26 years of service at Rutgers, University Dental School in New Jersey. Her vast experience in Administration has been very instrumental for the developing of Protocol of Policies that fits perfectly to the practice.
Ms. Ruiz is responsible for managing and coordinating the operation and administration of the practice.
She also provides translation to our Spanish population which makes patients feel more comfortable at the time of their visit.
Michelle Milete is our new member at this office since 2019. Michelle has demonstrated success in the health care field for over 18 years; she has worked in many different aspects of the medical field such as working with Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Developmental/Intelectual Disability community, and even durable medical equipment. This has not only helped Michelle understand the full scope of being in healthcare, it has also made her compassionate to understanding our patient’s needs. With her vast experience, Michelle has become a great asset for the office as a Medical Biller.
She has strong skills in analyzing problems and finding solutions in a timely and efficient manner. Michelle keeps current on the ever changing world of Medical Billing to ensure all of the latest regulations are implemented. She works one on one with all of our clients to help with any issues they may have.
Michelle also speaks Spanish which helps with our Spanish speaking population in this area.
Ms. Jessica Parsons joined our office when she was attending High School. After graduation, Ms. Parsons worked for 16 years in the Hospital setting and later returned to work in our office full time. She has demonstrated excellent clinical and technical skills. She is dedicated to help patients achieve optimal outcomes when they come to the office.
Ms. Parsons is the coordinator for all House Calls and Nursing Home Scheduling. She interacts directly with patients, Primary Care Providers and Nurse Practitioners to make sure that the patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner.
Ms. Parson has proved herself to be an excellent addition to our team.
